SBAG is concerned about the recent rash of denials to families who are trying to renew their annual waivers through the Katie Beckett Medicaid program. If anyone knows of any persons in the Atlanta area or anywhere in Georgia for that matter, the SBAA would like our help verifying and contacting those folks. SBAA is attempting to assist Evacuees in anyway it can such as transmitting appropriate medical supplies.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, a 32-year-old woman who has spina bifida, her husband, and a 3-year-old child arrived in Atlanta from Beaumont, TX. We are trying to this family and to let SBAA know as well.

SBAG is calling a general membership meeting on September 11, 2005 in Room B-53 in Egleston Hospital on Clifton Road next to the Emory University campus. All current members and any interested persons are invited to attend between 2:00 p.m and 4:00 p.m.
The SBAG Board would like to hear from the SBAG members and to personally discuss issues of common concern, such as health care, for both young and adults; your experiences with the SPARX program, which is currently under the Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta; and the 2006 national SBA conference to be held in Atlanta next June.
